We are very pleased to have chosen RJ Bacon Builders for our kitchen extension project. The extension was added to our seventeenth century farmhouse in order to better link the main house with the garden and also to provide a comfortable, light and airy living/eating space. In contrast to the main house, the extension is modern in design but blends with its surroundings thanks to the beautifully crafted brick and flint gable end wall which is now an attractive feature when viewed from the garden. Throughout the project, the RJB team worked closely with us, providing expert advice on details of the design plus the selection of the best materials for the job which meant that the end result was better than we could ever have expected. Working on such an old house of course threw up some unexpected problems, but these were dealt with in a calm and professional manner by the building team who took care of every small detail. There was generally a ‘can-do’ attitude so that we were also able to incorporate some extra unplanned works to improve the existing building (such as replacing old guttering, installing an underground water storage tank) when it made sense to do these while the builders were on site.
The RJB staff were all extremely professional, polite, hardworking and punctual, leaving the site safe and tidy at the end of each day. The quality of their work was outstanding as evidenced in the end product. The office staff provided us with regular, detailed updates of the financial costs of the work and were always punctual in replying to queries and helping us to liaise with the rest of the team. They were also able to recommend top quality tradesmen and suppliers for the kitchen units, worktops, guttering, landscaping etc.
We are thrilled with our new kitchen which has transformed our day to day living and would highly recommend RJ Bacon Builders to other customers.’
